HIV/AIDS antibody testing can be arranged by local or family doctors or through specialist clinics. The test may incur a cost unless it is done through one of the nominated free test sites.

The VICTORIAN AIDS COUNCIL is a key Statewide agency which offers a wide range of assistance to people who are HIV+, or have AIDS. Services include counselling, anonymous HIV testing, clinic with doctors (also hypnotherapy and acupuncture), home care, support groups, accommodation service, financial relief, education programs and legal assistance.
The VICTORIAN INFECTIOUS DISEASES SERVICE at the Royal Melbourne Hospital has specialist HIV/AIDS services and offers inpatient and outpatient treatment.
